Foods that cause Acid RefluxThe reason that some one would experience the problems caused by acid reflux would be the weakening of the LES valve, which is letting acids escape from the stomach. There could be many ways in which you could treat the situation however, there is no guarantee that it would not reoccur.

The reason of acid reflux at the first place is the food that you have consumed which is contributing towards acid reflux. Hence, the only way to undo the same would be to ensure that you should be avoiding such food and eating more of the acid friendly food. This would ensure a neutralizing effect and thereby you would be relieved from the acid reflux concerns forever.

Planning a diet, which is acid friendly, is very important and would vary from person to person. As how the acid foods react and present symptoms also varies from one individual to the other. The common foods, which are sure to contribute to acid reflux concerns, are –

1. Fatty product is the richest when it comes to contributing to acid reflux concerns. The dairy food, the meat products and fried food should be avoided as much as possible.
2. Soda is another devil. Most of the people would have a lot of it or may be are in a habit of consuming the same with meals. This should be ceased in case you have acid reflux symptoms.
3. Citrus fruits and juices like – oranges, lime, grape etc should be scratched out from the diet.
4. Raw onion and tomatoes should be avoided.
5. Caffeine is another thing that you should keep away from. Drinks like tea and coffee should be minimized or avoided.
6. Chocolates, alcohol should be avoided.
7. Spearmint or peppermint should not be consumed.
8. Peppers and chilli peppers should be avoided.

Acid Seflux Sore Throat

Acid Reflux Sore ThroatWhen some of the acids escape from the stomach due to the weak LES valves, it may cause various problems. One of the problems could be sore throat. The inflammation in esophagus, which is a tube that connects the stomach with the mouth and throat, could result in a sore throat.

About 10% of people experience this pain in the throat due to acid reflux. Still, there are some who would temporarily get a pain relief medicine and forget about the same. An untreated acid reflux sore throat could cause ulcer or may be something as serious as esophageal cancer.

The best way to avoid such a situation is to keep yourself away from falling prey to acid reflux sore throat. Below are some ways the same could be accomplished –

1. Avoid food that could get you into the situation. Foods like onions, fried foods, spicy foods, citrus fruits, caffeine drinks, tomatoes, garlic, chocolate, alcohol and peppermint should be avoided. Choose foods that are acid friendly for neutralization.
2. Gargle salt with warm water in the evening. This would safe guard you the entire night against the acid reflux sore throat.
3. Sleep on your back rather than on your stomach at night, as that would encourage the acid reflux.
4. Eat small portions and you should not eat about 2-3 hours before you go to bed.
5. If you are some one who is frequent victim of the same, you could consult your doctor for some preventive medication as well.

The above mentioned would take care that you would not fall prey to acid reflux sore throat however, the fact that the acids are escaping from your stomach needs a treatment. This could be done through medication as requested by your doctor or you could go for the natural cure like exercising, detoxification diet, garlic etc.
